2017/2018 Executive Board

President: Coordinate the work of the officers and committees to promote the purposes of PTA. Leads the PTA in cooperation with the other members of the Executive Board. Melissa Sebourn
1st VP/Membership: Responsible for recruiting members to BES PTA, an important role in the success of the PTA because members are the foundation of achieving our mission to make every child’s potential a reality. Amanda Spivey
2nd VP/Programs: Responsible for offering a variety of programs for parents, students, and educators to empower them with knowledge and new skills, while building a sense of community within the school. Many programs will take place prior to the Association Meetings. Joshua Spivey
3rd VP/Fundraising:  Responsible for the fundraisers for the BES PTA, an important role in the success of the PTA because members are the foundation of achieving our mission to make every child’s potential a reality. Misti Cross
4th VP/Hospitality: Responsible for the Back-to-School Teacher Luncheon and the Holiday Cookie Exchange for teachers. April DeAlva
Secretary: Responsible for keeping accurate records of all association proceedings. Oversees all communications as point of contact. Kim White

Treasurer: Responsible for the funds of the association, and receives and disburses all monies in accordance with the budget as approved by the association membership. Kristi Greer
Historian: Maintains a record of PTA sponsored activities in the form of an annual scrapbook. Will also update & submit handbook to council once a year. Lauren Weeaks

Parliamentarian:  Advises the board of directors and members on matters of parliamentary procedure, and serves as a consultant, especially in a meeting, where only the chair has the authority to rule on questions of order or to answer parliamentary inquires. To be determined by Executive Board

Volunteer Leads:  
Room Parent Lead:  Responsible for coordinating Room Parent selection at the beginning of the year & coordinating their efforts throughout the year. Felicia Glaspie

Student Volunteer Coordinator: Secures student volunteers from local feeder schools to assist in helping at various PTA events. OPEN POSITION
Student Program Leads:
Arts in Education Lead: Promotes arts & culture to the BES students through participation in the National PTA's annual Reflection's Program. OPEN POSITION
Family Fun Lead:  In charge of planning & executing two family fun events at BES each school year. Amanda Spivey & Misti Cross

Book Fair/Library Lead:  Assists librarian with book fair & volunteers. Christina White
Red Ribbon Week Lead:  Works closely with the counselor to execute events for Red Ribbon Week in October. Amanda Spivey 
Santa’s Workshop Lead: In charge of coordinating Santa’s Workshop. Christina White & Ashley Hickson
Talent Show: organizes and runs the BES Talent Show. Joshua Spivey
Trailblazer Math Lead: Coordinates the enactment of the Trailblazer Math program. OPEN POSITION
Trailblazer Reading Lead:  Coordinates the enactment of the Trailblazer Reading program. Erica Marcial
Trailblazer Running Club Lead:  Coordinates the Trailblazer Running Club program. Misti Cross
Fundraising Leads:
Carnival Lead: Responsible for forming a committee of volunteers to plan the annual BES Carnival. Misti Cross
Dining Out Lead: Responsible for the selection of participating restaurants, collection of monies, and the distribution of incentives for Dining Out events. April DeAlva
Holiday Store Lead: In charge of choosing a vendor for the Holiday Store & coordinating the event. Misti Cross, & Ashley Hickson
Rebates/Box Tops for Education Lead:  Coordinate the details of the various rebate programs including Box Tops & Campbell's Labels. Collect the items & coordinate various student incentive programs. Sarah McMurdo
School Store Lead:  In charge of setup and sales once a month with a portion of the proceeds benefiting Casey's Kids. OPEN POSITION
Spirit Sticks Lead:  Responsible for the selection of spirit sticks for the school year. Amanda Spivey
Spirit Wear Lead:  Responsible for the selection of spirit wear for the school year. Misti Cross
Sponsorships & Donations: Responsible for obtaining sponsorship's & donations for PTA events including carnival, teacher appreciation, family fun events, etc. OPEN POSITION
Valentine Grams:  Coordinate the sale & distribution of the Valentine Pop program in February. Monica Lamos
Hospitality Leads:
School Supply Lead:  Coordinate the ordering & arrangements for the back-to-school supply packs. Monica Lamos
Banquet Coordinator: Responsible for planning the annual Holiday Party and end of year “In and Out” Banquet. Joshua Spivey
Breakfast Programs: Responsible for Tears & Cheers, Grandparents' Day, and Senior Breakfast.
Staff Appreciation Lead: Coordinates the events & activities for Staff Appreciation throughout the year & during Teacher Appreciation Week in May. Kim White
Student Appreciation Lead:  Plans & executes the events relating to Student Appreciation Week in May. April DeAlva
Communication Leads:
Marquee & Display Lead: Help the office staff update the school marquee on a weekly basis and help the PTA update the hallway displays. Kim White
Social Media/Website:  Oversee the BES PTA website, Facebook and Twitter. Katy Billingsley
Benevolence/ Condolences Chair: Work with counselor, sending of cards to BES students or staff with a significant life event. Sarah McMurdo
Yearbook Lead:  Responsible for collecting pictures w/ corresponding names & layouts for the school yearbook. April DeAlva
